The JCS athletics department hosted an emergency care clinic for coaches during the March teacher workday, reaffirming the school system’s commitment to prioritizing student-athlete safety through continuous training and education.

The Jefferson High School volleyball team was honored at the Georgia State Senate for winning the state championship earlier this year. The team was formally recognized during a special session where a resolution acknowledging their success was adopted.

JMS students participated in the HOSA Middle School State Leadership Conference. Lyla Mann and Lawson Wilburn placed second in the state for Dynamic Decisions, qualifying for the International Leadership Conference in June. 

Two Jefferson City Schools educators recently presented at the Georgia Environmental Education Alliance (EEA) Annual Conference on Jekyll Island. Jennifer McAuley, a life science teacher at Jefferson Middle School, and Liz French, JCS BioSTEAM coordinator, led an engaging session showcasing the JMS Outdoor Classroom & Wildlife Habitat.
